Jason In 2010!
2009 was a big year for Jason Blaine – a year that saw several singles find their way up the charts and Jason nominated for the CCMA’s Male Artist of the Year – but 2010 is shaping up to be even bigger!
- Sweet Sundown, released with E1 Canada, is in stores and available from iTunes now! The album landed on iTunes at #9, in the Canadian Country Albums category, in its first day!
- The 1st single from Sweet Sundown, “Numb,” has cracked the Top 10 on Country Radio. CMT is working with Jason on a new single and video for the summer. Stay tuned for more details.
- Brooks and Dunn’s final Canadian tour includes four cities in May (Vancouver on May 2nd, Calgary on May 4th, Edmonton on May 5th, and Saskatoon on May 6th). Make sure you come out and see Jason live on stage! – Oh yeah, Brooks and Dunn will be there too. :)
- Check out CMT’s special “Jason Blaine – 4 Tracks” on May 22nd. The special will feature an intimate performance of 4 new songs from the new CD, plus an in-depth interview about the new tunes.
Jason’s new single “Numb”
After just two weeks at country radio, Jason’s new single “Numb” is off to a great start as the Top 5 most added song it’s first week out and the #1 most added country single in it’s second week going for adds, according to Mediabase. It is also the #5 most added new song for all formats! Now ADDED into rotation at over 26 stations nationally, Numb is the first single from Jason’s forthcoming new record titled “Sweet Sundown” due to hit stores in late March. The CD will include 11 new songs and features a special collaboration with one of Jason’s musical heroes, Steve Wariner. The accompanying video, directed by Warren Sonoda, is now in heavy rotation on CMT Canada and Jason is the “Big Shot” featured artist for the month of January at www.cmt.ca

We have a bunch of exciting stuff planned for 2010, including a fresh new look to this website and a new single & video the first week on January called “Numb”. This will be the first single from the new record “Sweet Sundown” hitting stores in March! I want to thank the team from Melcher Media & Design for putting together this video of “Good Day To Get Gone” it really captures the spirit of 2009 and the fun we had out on the road across Canada!
CMT on Tour Behind the Scenes TV Special
This summer Jason Blaine, The Higgins, Tara Oram and Steven Lee Olsen hit the road for a 19 city tour that spanned across Canada. CMT Canada (www.cmt.ca) will be airing a one hour special giving you a behind the scenes look at all the fun, hard work, and great music that went into this tour. Be sure and catch Jason in all of the behind the scenes action on Monday, September 14th at 7PM (EST). Check your local cable listings for repeat airings.
Jason Blaine Heads To The CCMA's
Nominated as Male Artist of the Year, Jason heads to Vancouver for the CCMA Awards Show September 13, 2009.
The Canadian Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from GM Place on CBC nationally at 8:00 PM EDT Sunday, September 13 and will celebrate the highlights of Canadian Country music for the past year and feature the best of Canadian talent, international superstars and industry leaders- all in the heart of Vancouver. Look for Jason to be featured as one of this years Award presenters.
Male artist of the year nomination!
Jason Blaine has been nominated for Male Artist of the Year at this year’s Canadian Country Music Awards. Other nominees include, Gord Bamford , Paul Brandt, George Canyon & Johnny Reid. The show airs live on CBC from Vancouver, September 13th.
